Application for Short-Term Accommodation in Undergraduate Dormitories for Students from Taipei & New Taipei, Spring 2026

Dear Students,

The application for short-term accommodation in undergraduate dormitories for students with a household registry in Taipei City and New Taipei City for Spring Semester 2026 will open soon.

  1. Eligibility:
    1. Freshmen and undergraduate senior male students whose household registration is in Taipei City or New Taipei City.
    2. Students whose household registration has been outside Taipei City and New Taipei City for less than two years, or in any of the following remote districts of New Taipei City for less than two years (Sanzhi, Shimen, Jinshan, Wanli, Ruifang, Gongliao, Shuangxi, Pingxi, Pinglin, Wulai, Shiding, and Linkou), must contact the Student Housing Service Division by phone or email to activate their application eligibility.

(Note: As there are nearly 100 female senior students from outside the Twin Cities currently on the waiting list, the application for short-term accommodation will not be open to senior female students from Taipei or New Taipei City this semester.)

  1. Application Period: From 10:00 AM on February 9 (Monday) to 12:00 PM on February 24 (Tuesday), 2026. Late applicants must register as the last candidate on the waiting list after the results are announced.

  3. Dormitory Location: On-campus dormitories (Freshmen Women’s Dorm, Men’s Dorm 1, Men’s Dorm 2, Men’s Dorm 3, Men’s Dorm 4, Men’s Dorm 5, Men’s Dorm 6, Men’s Dorm 7, and Men’s Dorm 8)
  4. Priority Allocation: Applicants who meet any of the following criteria will be given priority in the lottery. Required supporting documents must be uploaded to the application system during the application period:
    1. Students with disabilities: A copy of the disability certificate must be provided.
    2. Students from low-income households: A certificate issued by the city government that includes the applicant’s name must be provided. These students are exempt from accommodation fees but must pay a dormitory deposit.
    3. Students from mid-low-income households: A certificate issued by the city government that includes the applicant’s name must be provided. These students receive a NT$7,000 subsidy for the semester accommodation fee (see Section VIII).
    4. Indigenous students: A household registry document must be provided.
    5. Students whose household registration was in Taipei City or New Taipei City within the past two years but has since been changed: A household registry document must be provided.
    6. Students with long commuting times: Students whose household registration is in Taipei City or New Taipei City and whose one-way commute exceeds one hour must upload a screenshot from Google Maps showing the estimated travel time to NTU by public transportation, with the arrival time set at 8:00 AM.
    7. Students enrolled in practicum courses with schedules before 8:00 AM or after 10:00 PM: Proof of course enrollment or official documentation of practicum hours is required.
  5. Application Results: Results will be announced on February 25, 2026 (Wednesday) at 2:00 PM on the application website. Successful applicants will receive notification via email. Unsuccessful applicants will be placed on a waiting list, with placements updated until April 17, 2026.
  6. Accommodation Period: Students must confirm their check-in through the application system within three (3) days of receiving the notification. Payment and on-site check-in procedures must be completed within seven (7) days. The accommodation period will end on June 20, 2026 (Saturday).
  7. Fees: Accommodation fees will be calculated starting from the week of the move-in notification. A dormitory deposit is required and will be refunded upon check-out in accordance with Article 24 of the NTU Student Dormitory Management Regulations.

The Executive Yuan provides subsidies for on-campus accommodation fees for students with Republic of China (Taiwan) nationality. General students receive NT$5,000 per semester. Students from middle-low-income or low-income households, as well as children of active-duty military personnel, receive NT$7,000 per semester. The subsidy amount will be calculated starting from the week of the move-in notification.
